All of these midi files were generated by the program abc2midi from abc files posted on the internet. The transcriptions were typeset using the program abcm2ps, ghostscript, and acrobat. If you know that a particular midi file or transcription in common music notation is violating a copyright please contact either Seymour Shlien (seymour.shlien@crc.ca) or Shantnu Mishra (nannu@ifdo.pugmarks.com) and we will promptly remove it.
Most of the abc transcriptions are my own based on listening to recordings. I am particularly, grateful to John Chambers and Aubrey Jaffer who have transcribed quite a few of these tunes and posted them on their sites http://ecf-guest.mit.edu/~jc/music/ and http://swissnet.ai.mit.edu/~jaffer/Music. My own transcriptions can be found on http://ifdo.pugmarks.com/~seymour/runabc/top.html.Many of these transcriptions are incomplete. They are here only to provide a flavour of the dances that are done at our club or to help you learn the name of the dances.
For more information on the abc music notation format, players and databases please see the web site The abc Homepage.
